  1. Thanks for sharing; where did you come by this memorabilia? Burny Brothers was founded by my Great-Grandfather Camille Burny, and these kinds of images are hard to come by. I have a newspaper article with a speech he gave to the American Bakers Association if you'd like to post it- contact me for more info.

  3. We always had Burny Bros. coffee cake when we visited our Chicago aunts on Sawyer Ave. We would drive from Ohio on a Friday night and go back home on Sunday-Aunt Amanda always had it waiting for us. What a tasty memory.

  4. Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge IL, was where we visited Burny Bros, on a weekly adventure. I remember the brownies were my absolute favorite. Does anyone have this recipe? It would only be for personal use.

  5. When I grew up, the bakery was located inside Jewel's. My favorite treat from the bakery was the sugar cookies.

  7. Was wondering if anyone remember the Rum Cakes that was sold in Jewels Grocery stores refrigerator section? They were do delicious.
